Robert J. Baranello, Principal
Mr. Baranello joined Landmark Health Solutions in 1998 as Vice President of Operations and in 2002 became Chief Operating Officer; now, as one of Landmark's three owners, he directs strategic planning and performance for the management and consulting business. Previously he was Vice President for Professional Services at Central Suffolk Hospital in New York and Vice President for Operations at both Mariner Health Care Group and Olympus Health Care Group. Mr. Baranello's acute, post-acute, rehabilitation, senior services, and housing experience encompasses all facets of development, start-up operations, turnaround execution, and integration of management and care-delivery systems; his particular specialty is business planning for financially and clinically distressed facilities, with expertise in achieving rapid turnaround in clinical care and financial performance. A licensed Nursing Home Administrator in both Massachusetts and New York, he holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Syracuse University and a Master of Public Administration degree in Health Policy and Management from New York University.
Susan E. Coppola, R.N., Principal
In 2006, Ms. Coppola became co-owner of Landmark Health Solutions; she provides quality and clinical oversight to the Senior Vice President for Clinical Operations. Previously she was Director of Patient Information and Finance, and later Acting Chief Executive Officer, at Boston Regional Medical Center; a manager in the consulting division at PricewaterhouseCoopers, responsible for marketing and development of new health care services; and Senior Vice President of Clinical Operations at Harborside Healthcare, where she was responsible for strategic planning and resource allocation, review of business development, and organizational growth and partnership opportunities. In addition, she designed and implemented Harborside's state-of-the-art dementia care program. Ms. Coppola's clinical and management expertise include HIPAA compliance, APC assessment, quality of care, case management, and operations improvement. A registered nurse, she holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Administration from Emmanuel College in Boston, from which she graduated with Presidential Honors.
Steven V. Raso, Principal
A co-owner of Landmark since 2006, Mr. Raso is responsible for corporate financial operations, including Clinical Reimbursement, Rehabilitation Therapy, and Accounting and Finance. With twenty years of work in long-term care, he also served as Vice President of Operations for Healthbridge Management and as Senior Vice President of Operations and later Senior Vice President of Reimbursement at Harborside Healthcare Corporation. While at Harborside, Mr. Raso served on the Executive Board and guided the organization's growth from a privately held business with five facilities to a publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange with fifty-five nursing homes in nine states. In addition, Mr. Raso was an officer of a public company for five years. Mr. Raso's wide range of experience encompasses operations, reimbursement, acquisitions, finance, compliance, budgeting, and purchasing. With a proven track record for increasing profitability and EBITDA, he has successfully managed numerous turnaround operations for distressed nursing facilities. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Bentley College.
